Delhi Daredevils vs Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2014 Match 28 Preview: Struggling teams look to pick momentum

Delhi Daredevils will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Wednesday. Both the teams have not been upto the mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Venue: Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi

Time: 16:00 (IST)

Kolkata will be devastated by the loss against the Rajasthan Royals two days ago when they were cruising towards a win at Motera. The mini-collapse – losing six wickets in seven deliveries for two runs – pegged them back considerably and they lost the game by 10 runs. Knight Riders may include Jacques Kallis in the scheme of things after Ryan ten Doeschate failed to impress.

Yusuf Pathan’s poor form has been a huge concern for Kolkata. He may be dropped for the tie against Delhi and Debabrata Das could get a game.

Kolkata may bring back either Piyush Chawla or chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI on a slow Kotla track.

Delhi batted well against the Chennai Super Kings but it’s their bowling that let them down. The nucleus of the batting is likely to be not tinkered.

Leg-spinner Rahul Sharma is likely to get a game considering how Kolkata struggled against Pravin Tambe in their previous tie. Jaydev Unadkat and Mohammed Shami had a poor outing against the Super Kings, so one of them is likely to make way for the leg-spinner.

Delhi’s Likely Playing XI: Quinton de Kock, Murali Vijay, Kevin Pietersen (c), Dinesh Karthik (wk), JP Duminy, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Kedar Jadhav, Shahbaz Nadeem, Wayne Parnell, Rahul Sharma/Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Shami.

Kolkata’s Likely Playing XI: Robin Uthappa (wk), Gautam Gambhir (c), Jacques Kallis, Shakib Al Hasan, Manish Pandey, Debabrata Das, Suryakumar Yadav, Sunil Narine, R Vinay Kumar, Piyush Chawla/Kuldeep Yadav, Umesh Yadav.
